Prescription Drug Medication Disposal
If you have prescription medication in your household and are looking for a location for proper disposal, you can bring these medications to the Police Department/Town Office building. Guidelines on what is accepted and not accepted are as follows:
- Pharmaceuticals may be disposed of in the original containers or in a sealed plastic bag.
- Liquids must remain in the original container.
We DO accept:
- Prescription medication (Controlled and Non-Controlled).
- Over-The-Counter (OTC) Medication.
- Vitamins.
- Syrups, Ointments, Creams, Lotions.
We do NOT accept:
- Needles, syringes, or lancets.
- Thermometers, batteries or other products which contain mercury or cadmium.
- Medical waste items such as IV bags, used bandages, gowns, or biohazard items.
- Aerosol cans.
- Hydrogen peroxide or other disinfectants.
- Personal care products (non-medicated shampoo, sunscreen, etc).
