New to Town
Download and fill out the New Resident Form (PDF). This will speed up data entry when you come to the office to register your vehicles and dogs.

Please note that you will need two documents demonstrating Chesterfield residency. If you already have an NH license with the current address, this can act as one document. Other examples: lease agreement, tax bill from the town, and current (within 3 months) utility bill in your name.
If these options are not available and you are living with someone who has a registered vehicle in town, this person may also write a letter attesting to your residency. The letter should include their name, your name, the address you are living at, the date, how long you have lived at this address (month/year), and the current resident's signature.

Note that at this time, we cannot register boats. The DMV is not enabling new towns to take on boat registrations at this time. Note that Keene, Walpole, and Hinsdale Town Clerk's Office can do your boat registration, or you can mail it to Concord for registration. Learn more by visiting the DMV Website.
We do register boat trailers.
